Moxy Paris Bastille Le Marais

My 2 week stay at the Moxy hotel was overall lovely.❤

Pros:

Centrally located hotel in the 11arr.

Chic hotel stylish and clean

Friendly and helpful accommodating staff!

New technology big screen TV USB outlets by bed and TV to charge phone

Nice fun events for guest from mixology classes to running events for active guest!

Spacious room options and unique storage options for baggage

Beautiful balcony in rooms and open terrace on top floor

Great lounge/ working space area for guest, I met some Amazing people in the resturant area. Great spot for solo/business travellers to be social.

Dog friendly (*but for a unfriendly price)

Without sounding like a full lush the drink selection and bartenders were the best!!

Cons:

Wish there was more diversity in their advertising and partnerships

Bed was hard on the back but to be fair not many hotels in Europe have good beds. It was at least a Real bed. I’ve stayed in a lot this was among the better of the hard beds. Do yoga

Limited menu but everything I tried was good

Despite the bed I wanted to stay longer 2 weeks was not enough!

All my bags and a fabulous first meal from The Moxy Resturant

I put a sheet on the bunk bed and put my dog on the bunk bed! Yes I did!! For 20CHF yes I did. Here’s my review in detail and Vidéo link below as well!

hotel review here!

Cons:

1.What I didn’t like about the hotel the windows were locked and there was no air it was very warm in the room( no temperature controls at all)

2. the price was too high for a one night budget hotel.

3.The room was dirty toliet seat was dirty, sheets were dirty,

4. There was only one outlet in the room and it was over the sink and did not work with my bulky hairdryer outlet plug which changed my plans!

Pros: Things I liked

1. free transit ticket for the length of my stay and

2. the hotel was close to public transit.

3. The shower was nice and actually better than it initially seemed spacious and water pressure was great

4. The lounge area was stylish and fun packed with a bar, snacks, games and plates and silverware to use for your Uber Eats!

5. The staff were friendly and helpful. As soon as I realized the sheets needed to be changed the cleaning staff responded right away and respecfully. They changed the sheets promptly.

hotel review in Lyon

Check out my hotel room in Lyon!

I love the hotel location of Hotel Du Simplon and the shower head was wonderful. That sounds steamy pun intended its was just a nice shower good pressure. That’s important.

The hotel Staff is nice. The bed is comfortable for Européen standards… But I I didnt like that everytime my neighbor flushed the toliet in the next room my room sounded like it was flooding, like a tsunami hit France.

they charge around 5 euros per day for my dog, which is not a lot but in hotels I dont think it’s right to call themselves “dog friendly” but then charge extra when they don’t charge extra for people. I would rather leave a nice tip for the cleaning staff but not both. Plus my dog is shaved and trained no extra hair to clean. With that said I would recommend this hotel.

There was a option to inclued a breakfast for 9€ and you can order drinks at the réception desk coffee, juice, tea, etc. I also liked there was a USB charger for my phone on the headboard. The hotel is centrally located a 8 min walk from the bus/ train station Lyon Gare Routière Perrache. Lots of restaurants and things to do close by! There’s also a laundry mat right cross from the hotel, for all the fellow travelers I know how it can be!! There’s a resturant in the hotel and I didn’t get a chance to go but when I arrived whatever they were looking smelled so good I could smell from my room on the first floor!!

Drake Concert in Paris! The Assassination Vacation Tour

concerts, France, Paris, Travel

Y’all know I like…love music all kinds from each end of the spectrum including my commercial top 40 rap. The worlds best Black, White, Canadian and Jewish rap star is at the top of my list he’s some of everything. I’ve loved him since before 2009 every Summer it seemed like he had the Summertime hit. So many memories I’ve tied nostalgically to songs by Drake! So say what you want I👏🏾 don’t 👏🏾 care👏🏾. For example, I posted a tweet on Twitter about being at the Drake concert and got some backlash saying that Drake’s music is not real music. Say what you want it’s real to me!!

Back to the concert// The warm up act was really good by Tory Lanez. I didn’t know his name but I have heard some of his songs and now I know who he is and subsequently followed him on Instagram! The stage was huge and both Tory and Drake had to be in wonderful shape to work the stage like they did. Drake took a little break, maybe he was tired?! Non? And Tory came out and preformed again….

I met some wonderful people at the concert. Next to me was a French couple who loved to travel all around the United States and they only found out who Drake was when they traveled to Miami last year and everyone was “hype” when they played Drake in Miami so they had to check him out when Drake came to Paris. I really enjoyed talking with them but the wife, I think felt a little left out and she found better seats a few rows down🙃.

Behind me there was a couple who introduced themselves to me but then they started fighting and the man yelled “you women need to know your place”. The woman replied Then I will get on a plane and take this P¥$$¥ home then. And after that I just ignored them and the nice couple asked me more about travel, but when the concert started the fighting couple were dancing and having fun like nothing happened. So all was well.🤷🏾‍♀️

There was definitely weed filling up the whole building and I’m pretty sure I had a contact high although I don’t smoke. For whatever reason I don’t mind that smoke but cigarette smoke I can’t stand. So it was all good with me.

Now back to Drake. He rushed through a melody of his songs over the last 10 years. It hasn’t felt like 10 years have gone by since Drake has become mainstream. I would’ve enjoyed a longer walk down memory lane but sound bites were good enough too for time sake, I guess.

At one point a guy… not sure if he was an athlete or not or what his name was but he got up on stage to shoot some basketball shots for a prize of money. Then he actually proposed to his girlfriend. In all honesty it was the worse proposal ever to me and if it were me I would’ve said try again. He said something like sorry for all the years I treated you bad I’m sorry. He continued to say it was the third time he asked her to marry him and would she say yes this time. I don’t know it wasn’t a good proposal I was like oh no, what is he saying he cheated and treated her bad, do better. Anyway here’s some clips below of the concert. The stage and graphics were phenomenal unlike that proposal. Drake said he loves Paris and now his son lives there I thought it was sweet!

April in Aruba!

Travel

Ahhh Aruba, I will never forget my time on this happy island! I was having so much fun my phone took a deep sea dive in the water so I have limited pictures however I will share some pictures below if I can find some.

I absolutely loved going to flamingo beach it’s a private island. It was a short boat ride to the island and there were 4 flamingos and a restaurant. I enjoyed some pina colada’s and fun in the sun. I also had a lot of fun on a UTV tour I drove the UTV myself! The whole UTV group was impressed by my driving skills. I’m a realtor, driving is in my job description hahahah. This trip was a solo travel trip. A lot of couples asked if was traveling alone! The men mostly said they could never do that. I found traveling solo to be liberating and got me out to find adventures and meet new people. Aruba is said to be one of the safest and truly happiest islands around. I had the best time.

I enjoyed the snorkeling tour as well the fish And shipwreck I saw on the snorkeling trip were unforgettable. I visited the casino and won a total of $5. But I spent more than that. Casino wins are tax free in Aruba!

Aruba is a Dutch island and they speak Spanish English and the native language, Papiamento. For transportation I took the local bus to get around it’s much cheaper than cabs just $2 if anything, lol . The water was so blue and the sand never gets truly hot so you can still walk on it without feeling the burn. I came back to Charlotte with a renewed spirit and it was truly a wonderful trip! “One Happy Island”

After the UTV tour!!after UTV tour

🍔That’s all folks!!!🤣😂😭
